Courtesy Reminders

ISF — Importers have until January 26, 2010 to become ISF compliant for all cargo arriving by ocean into the USA. After this date, U. S. Customs & Border Protection will assess penalties in the amount of $5,000 to $10,000 per violation. Please allow Charles M. Schayer & Company to help you with ISF compliance by contacting us with any questions that you may have.

Lacey Act — We are in Phase III of the Lacey Act. A PPQ 505 Declaration is required to obtain release of the HTS#'s listed in Phase I, II and III of the Lacey Act. Providing false or misleading information to the U. S. Government will result in penalties in the amount of $10,000 for values under $350 or $20,000 for values over $350 and/or civil or ciminal actions.
